In Warsaw, in the Bemowo District, you can admire an estate of wooden houses, which was built in the 1950s. The estate was used as a residence for workers and technicians building the Palace of Culture and Science. The houses, which were modeled on old Polish manor houses, were brought to Warsaw in ready-made elements to be assembled on the spot. During the construction of the Palace of Culture and Science, 4.5 thousand people lived in the estate. Currently, the housing estate is inhabited by students, research workers, and various cultural institutions have a seat here.
